Martin 2: Round 10

Last round, Isabella Martin moved back home after college with her fiancé Topaz Halpert. After the wedding, Isabella quickly found work in the journalism field while Topaz joined the law track, perhaps to earn points in the eyes of his new in-laws who were both "the law" themselves. By the end of the week, he had joined them at the top of the career. Meanwhile, Isabella became pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl, Esme.

And it looks like things here are just as I left them, with everyone hitting each other with pillows.

Topaz: Mysterious voice, what took you so long?

Do you know how many houses I have to visit in this town? It takes awhile.

Um, I hate to break up the adult fun, but maybe somebody should check on the Esme...

Nice job, Isabella.

Isabella: Thanks.

You're kind of the odd one out around here, not being "the law".

Isabella: I don't mind too much, as long as they don't talk about work when they're home.

Wait, something's going on...

Oops, I forgot Kumquat and Mandolin were on their last day of adulthood. Sorry, guys.

Kumquat: Don't I at least get a cake?

Well...

There you go. We can all share Esme's cake.

Kumquat: I want my own cake.

How much cake can you guys eat? Anyway, can we focus here? Happy birthday, dear Esme...

Not bad...

Esme: Um...thanks.

Topaz: Want me to help you do something with that hair?

Esme: Um, that's ok. I can do it.

Smart move, Esme. The guys around here are great at a lot of things, but hairstyling isn't one of them.

Very nice, especially since you can't really see yourself in the mirror with all the pictures.

Esme: I hope I get to go on vacation one day.

Topaz: Are you guys still on this?

Kumquat: I should have had a cake. Everybody else around here got a cake when they became an elder.

Topaz: But we could never have eaten three cakes in one night!

Thank you, Topaz, for being the voice of reason.

Glad to see elderhood hasn't slowed you two down any, though.

Esme: Will Grandpa get a cake on his next birthday?

Mandolin: Um...actually, honey....

I don't think I want to stick around for this conversation...

Admiring your work?

Isabella: No, I'm checking out the competition. I'm up for a promotion at work and have to try my hand at investigative reporting.

I'm guessing it went over well.

Isabella: Yes, it did.

I guess you're on homework duty, huh Kumquat?

Kumquat: Yup.

Esme, a tip. If he says anything about cake, don't write it down.

Esme: I got an A+!

Wow, an A+ on your second day of school! That's great!

Looks like Isabella had another great day too.

Esme: How many more promotions do you have left, Mom?

Isabella: Just one more, I think.

Well, I think this would be a good time for me to be on my way...wait a minute, what was that?

Of course. Can't leave without some drama...

Esme: Is that really what the police are supposed to do? Beat the robber up?

Desperate times call for desperate measures, I guess.

At least it seems to have worked.

Ok, as I was saying, now seems like a good time for me to be on my way. I'll see you guys next round!

A Message from the Mysterious Voice: These guys had a couple of hiccups along they way. The latter half of this lot was played on my newly downloaded copy of The Sims 2 Super Collection (not to be confused with the PC only Sims 2 Ultimate Collection). Yes, our Mac version is not free, but for me paying for a digital download copy that can be reinstalled is worth it alone. Moving over my game data had a couple of bumps in the road, but everything seems to be working now. I'm actually really impressed with the effort Aspyr put in to re-tool the game for newer Macs. I'm really, really hopeful that they will end up porting The Sims 4. Anyway, I was really impressed with my self control with not making Isabella have more kids. The last thing I need in this town is more houses.
