Warner 1: Round 10

When we last left the Warner family, Holland had just committed a major faux pas by allowing Dot to see him making out with one of his many dates. Meanwhile, their daughter Elmyra had grown from a toddler to a child, and along the way became very confused as to how she should feel about her father being in love with both her mother and her aunt. Grandparents Destiny and Eric tried to hold the household together while still chasing Eric's dream of going on 50 dream dates.

Ahh, I see Holland is still here...although he is sleeping on the couch. Understandable at this point...

I think you may have left that salmon in the oven for too long...

Destiny: I know...I have a lot on my mind. I inherited some money from a friend earlier.

Isn't that a good thing?

Destiny: The money? Well, I guess so, although we don't really need it at this point. But it just reminded me that I'm getting older, and so is Eric. We're not going to be around forever and I'm genuinely worried about what will happen with Dot and Holland when we're gone.

Destiny: Why didn't you kick him out, again?

Dot: Because as much as I hate him right now he's still Elmyra's father.

Destiny: You can't tell me that you think having him around is good for her...

Dot: I want him to be in her life, at least until she's an adult.

Destiny: And what about after, when she moves back in?

Dot: I don't know...maybe she'll kick him out at that point.

Elmyra: Dad, why is Mom so mad at you?

Holland: Um...because she doesn't like pancakes.

Elmyra: Are you sure it's not because you kissed that other lady?

Holland: Nope. It's because I made pancakes and she likes waffles.

Most marital disputes start over breakfast differences...

Holland: What's that honking that's been going on for an hour?

Elmyra: Um...I think it was my bus.

Holland: Was?

Holland: Come on, I'll drive you to school...

Elmyra: Ok...

Holland: Um...you know where it is, right?

Elmyra: I think so...

Just follow the bus, Holland.

Dot: Hello...oh, hi. I just got home from work. Yeah, it's been a rough few days. No, no...he's still here. Well, you know, he's actually been getting better with Elmyra...he drove her to school today.

Eric: Yeah, after he couldn't get her to the bus on time...

Happy birthday, dear Elmyra...

Not bad...have you chosen an aspiration?

Elmyra: I want a life of romance...

Really?

Elmyra: Yes.

(sigh)...Fine.

Dot...Dot...(sigh) I guess cake makes a good pillow...

Elmyra: Do I look alright?

Sure, I guess...

Elmyra: My first day of high school is tomorrow. I want to make sure I make a good impression.

And I see Holland is still in the doghouse...or the dog-hammock.

Dot: How was your first day?

Elmyra: Fine, I guess.

Dot: So I was thinking about maybe getting a pet...

Elmyra: Um, that would be cool, I guess...

And I'm going to assume that this isn't a distraction from her problems with Holland now that Elmyra's older...

Nope, not a distraction at all...

Holland: Hi...no, now's not a good time. Yeah, there's too many people here right now. I've gotta go. Bye!

(clears throat)

Holland: What?

You seriously haven't learned your lesson yet?

Holland: I sure did. I learned to be much more careful about dating around the house...

At least Elmyra didn't take after her father in the lifetime want department...

Dot: Holland! Holland! I made dinner!

Holland: What?

Yeah, the communication between these two is so much better...

Holland: This is good cake.

Dot: Yeah, it is.

Elmyra: So, you both like the cake, right?

Dot: Yes...why?

Elmyra: I just don't want you two to start fighting again like you did when Dad made pancakes instead of waffles.

Dot: What?

Oh, there you two are. How's the dating going?

Eric: We're at 35...

Destiny: Don't worry, honey...we'll get there.

Dot: Ok, I'm heading out to work...keep an eye on Buttons.

Eric: We'll keep an eye on Holland for you too...

Dot: Dad, you don't need to do that...

Destiny: We'll keep an eye on him anyway.

(yawn) Giant Robot...

What a surprise...

Where are you up to now?

Eric: 41...we're so close...

Oh, right! I forgot about the puppy! Happy birthday, Buttons!

And it looks like Elmyra did a great job with her scholarships.

Elmyra: Grandpa's bookshelf from his job helped a lot.

I'll see you at graduation, and everybody else next round!

A Message From the Mysterious Voice: Wow, this post took a long time. Once I decided not to kick Holland out this lot got kind of boring. (Hence the addition of Buttons...)  I decided to focus on getting Eric's lifetime want rather than Holland's commitment issues; when the week ended they were at date number 42. Hopefully I can get the remaining 8 in before Grimmy shows up for them.
